Hosted by the Edmonton Police Service School Resource Officer Unit
ABOUT
Conference 2024
Join us October 17-18 as the Edmonton Police Service School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit is hosting a Safety in Schools conference!
The SRO Unit is recognized as one of the first community-based initiatives undertaken by the Edmonton Police Service — it is community policing in its purist form.
The SRO Unit is celebrating its 45th year as a prestigious program. Over the past 45 years, the role of the SRO has changed dramatically. A primary function of the SRO today is to assist the school administration in ensuring a safe and caring place of learning for students and staff, balancing enforcement with prevention and intervention.
The target audience for the SRO conference is educators (teachers/administrators), educational assistants, law enforcement, SRO or School Liaison Officer programs, peace officers, security personnel, social workers, counsellors / Family School Liaison Workers (FSLW), and wellness coaches.
